About Us
Ryman English Setter Gun Dogs
I have been a upland bird hunter for 26 years. I have owned numerous dogs during that time in which all have been English Setters-including Tekoa, Havelock and Ryman lines. The Ryman line that I breed have excelled above other types of setters that I have had for those who like old fashioned foot hunting dogs. Rymans are natural pointers and retreivers, hunt close, and are great with the family. I have chosen my dogs based are their abilities, looks, tempermant, and size. I have been training dogs for 15 years for myself and friends. These dogs take very little effort to train and they truly love to hunt birds as much as the owner.
Caney Creek Kennels
Caney Creek Kennels is located in the southeastern portion of Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains about 10 minutes south of Pikeville on U.S. 23. We are about 2 1/2 hours from Lexington, Kentucky and 2 hours from Kingsport, Tennesee. My dogs are hunted every weekend on either Ruffed Grouse, Woodcock, or Quail. The dogs are also taken to the Dakota's to hunt Ringneck Pheasant, Sharptail Grouse, and Prarie Chickens. Since the dogs are so active hunting in the wooded mountains of eastern Kentucky, they have to be close working.
